The price
of a diamond is determined by one factor alone – rarity. In
turn, the rarity of a diamond
is determined by 4 factors, referred to as the 4 C’s. They are,
in order of importance: Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat Weight.
Since both color and cut are visible to the naked eye, they are the
first two criteria on most grading charts.
